10 years after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus-the demigod son of Zeus-is wanting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the only parent to his 10-year older son, Helius.
Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages relating to the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanitys insufficient devotion, the gods are losing control from the imprisoned Titans and the ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling siblings Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father way back when, leaving him to rot inside gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep inside the cavernous underworld.
Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus godly son, Ares (Edgar Ram?rez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans strength develops stronger as Zeus staying godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed we know.
Enlisting the help on the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidons demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Costs Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks using a treacherous quest into your underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.
Talks of a sequel to Clash of the Titans began as early as March 2010. Tamer Hassan, who played Ares in the first film, stated at the films planet premiere that, “They want this that you do well just for them to go ahead with the actual sequel, Return of the Gods”. In April 2010 it was reported that director Louis Leterrier will not return to direct, but will be an executive producer around the second installment. The report also stated that Sam Worthington is on-board and that Greg Berlanti will create the story.
In June 2010, Warner Bros. hired scribes David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau to help pen the screenplay along with Basil Iwanyk returning as producer and in lieu of being converted to 3d images, the sequel will end up being shot in 3D. In August 2010, the The Hollywood Media reporter reported that Jonathan Liebesman got signed a deal in order to direct the sequel.

Additionally Hayley Atwell was about the shortlist of actresses screen testing for your role of Andromeda, played in the earlier film by Alexa Davalos. Other actresses being regarded for Andromeda included Georgina Haig, Janet Montgomery, Dominique McElligott and Cl?mence Po?sy. In February 2011 it turned out reported that Rosamund Pike was near a deal for that part.
Principal photography began about March 23, 2011. Filming took place inside studios outside London along with later shot on location in Surrey, South Wales and in the Canary Islands on your island of Tenerife.
